Professional Colour Laboratories and Colourpoint have merged.

Professional Colour Laboratories has merged with Colourpoint - Manchester's other main photo lab - to create a new company that will be known as pro2col imaging.

Why the merger?

It happens that Professional Colour Laboratories must move premises, as the site of the building at Chapel Street has been acquired for development. This seemed to present the perfect opportunity to seriously consider a merger, which had been casually discussed by two of the directors a couple of years ago.
Both companies have the same customer service objectives & complimenting equipment and were considering buying into the same areas of technology. In a rapidly changing marketplace, where investment is essential for client satisfaction it makes perfect economic sense to pool together capital investment potential in order to improve and expand the product range. The merged company will also benefit from the combined knowledge base of skilled staff, that will enable us to continue to provide a comprehensive, reliable service to photographers and graphics professionals.

How will it affect you?

What are the benefits to the customer?
The benefits are that you will be dealing with the same people as before, working for a company made stronger- and with greater potential - by the merger.

When do I stop sending my work to Chapel Street?
You can continue to call in as long as you are happy to do so. As we move people and equipment you will decide when the time is right to start calling in at Great Jackson Street. There will be a continuous courier between the two sites. You should not visit or send work to Chapel Street after the Christmas break. Clients on the pick up runs are not affected.

Will I continue to enjoy a pick up and delivery service?
Yes - we will continue to service the routes of both companies just as now. Only the time of your usual delivery/collection may be affected.

Will the new company honour the trading terms I currently have?
Again - Yes. We will continue to honour any current arrangements until a review is made, expected 1st quarter 2004.

Timetable

It has been decided that the new company will trade out of the premises in Great Jackson Street currently occupied by Colourpoint. Consequently, existing clients of Colourpoint should experience no change in service. Clients of PCL will experience little or no disruption while the move to the new premises takes place. This is expected to take about 4 or 6 weeks with the final pieces of equipment and staff transferring out of Chapel Street and into Great Jackson Street over the Christmas and New Year period.
This period up to Christmas will also be used to help us organise stationary and the administrative side of the new company.
